ELLIOT SMITH
    #3386428 - 11/19/04 10:32 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Has anyone found out if they declared him murdered yet? I saw his autopsy report and i dont think he commited suicide; even witht he suicide note, the cuts on the hands... the knife through the shirt... no toxins or drugs in his body...

Anyone have any info on this?

RIP ELLIOT SMITH

First off, who the fuck would want to murder him? Second, how can you listen to his utterly depressing music and think he wouldn't commit suicide?

Supposedly his live in girlfriend did it, he had cut marks on his hands that make it seem like he was holding the blade, he was also stabbed through the shirt wich is very unlike suicide, he also had been clean for a year at the time of his death, no toxins in his blood system at the time of death. there were even the girls prints on the knife. I think he was murdered.

And I cried when he died...

And his music is fucking awsome, so fuck yourself

WTF, his real name is Steven?

I love his music, and he has such a profound way with words. Roman Candle is my favourite album of his, and ultimately the one I think is most consistent. However, I seriously doubt he was murdered, or clean for an entire year. I'm pretty sure he was using heroin in the last stages of his life.

Yeah he changed his name when he was 13 because he thought it sounded to "Jockey" ha ha. Yeah alot of people say he was using heroine; It very well may be a possibility. He was said to have done something to his bloodstream to clear out the toxins. I know he was clean for a short while, not exactly how long. I just find all the unusual things found at the site pretty weird. Its an un-normal suicide, although it could of been just that.

wow it was last year? i really missed out on pop-culture news living in rural norway! it does seem to be a bit of an "extreme" suicide... but who knows?

muredered? i did not realized that his suicide was even being debated. i think people like to throw things out there just because the person in question is famous. every time a popular culture figurehead dies everyone is quick to say something crazy just to be new, tabloid fever if you will. while you seem to have a pretty thoughtout argument i have no trouble believing he killed himself. what do you think about the way elliott (one t or two, ive seen it both ways) recycles lyrics, personally i always hated that.

I do not believe this conclusion is radical. Look at the autopsy files. The police have not come up with a conclusion to this yet. They have not declared his death a suicide, or a murder.

here are some facts that are not normal for a suicide:

+ multiple stabs to the chest
+ stabs where through the shirt (suicide stabs are usually not clothed)
+ lacerations in and outside his hands
+ no toxins in his bloodstream at the time of death only per scribed amount of anti-depressants
+ Girlfriends prints on the knife (she said she pulled the knife out of his chest)

Facts normal for suicide
+ he was on anti-depressants
+ 4 letter suicide note on a post-it

I think he does recycle his lyrics, perhaps due to lack in musical influence?

As a musician I really love Elliott's music; he is on of my major musical influences.
