Partially colonized jar pinning invitro? (PICS)
    #3386002 - 11/19/04 09:04 PM (12 years, 16 days ago)

I inoculated a pf-tek jar with PESH, and after a week, it showed signs of colonization. However, it also appeared to be contaminated, with another type of myc, slightly greyer, taking over the remaining substrate.

I removed the jar from my incubator, and placed it on a shelf for observation, just to be sure. After about a week, it began to pin invitro. Currently there are about 5 pins, and I am not sure what to do.

Should I bury it outside? Simply ditch it? I am not sure how to react to this. The pins are all coming off of the colonized section, but they are extending over the contaminated/uncolonized part.

its pinning cause you left it in light.. it doesn't look to healthy (espeacialy if you are saying it got covered with some grey myc (sounds like cobweb, cannot tell from pics)) if you got good weather, toss it outside in under compost or straw/poo, somewhere in the shade..

I live in northern oregon, and all of my outdoor attempts have failed. I do have a small compost pile in a corner behind my house, under a tree. Would this be a good location?

It's too cold here for Cubes to grow.

The general consensus is that contam=no eat.
