Soulseek downloads are basically turn-based.
The host guy tells Soulseek how many people he wants to download at once. It's usually 1-3.
If all slots are used, then a queue starts--a line that you have to wait in to download what you want.

So if it says remotely queued, right click and choose 'get place in line' and it will give you a number like 14. THis means you've got 13 people in front of you with x number of files set to download.

Unfortunately, the guys with the most files, and the best transfer rates, usually have a huge queue line...

Once a song is downloaded you can go to the folder it saved it in (set in Soulseek Options), and move it, play it, do whatever.

i notice that when searching, in the files that come up black (the ones without a queue line), the ones that do not have a transfer rate next to them usually go fast.

i dunno why that is

where the chatrooms are listed, right click and select "Create Chat Room". when the dialog box comes up, type "Shroomery" (it's case sensitive).

theres usually only a couple people in there, but good file searchin and chatting if you can find someone else online

Yeah the shroomery room is good stuff

A lot of people don't like how you have to wait in lines ... but once you get past that and see all the other features and wonders of soulseek, you won't want to use anything else

i don't even wait in lines.. just download from people who don't have their stuff queued up!

the 'search room for files' option on the new slsk is the fuckin' coolest. you want some IDM? go to the IDM room and search. some 70's pyschadelia? go to the stoner rock room and search.

:yesnod:
