need advise repotting pedros
    #3385438 - 11/19/04 06:47 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

i have 2 pots with several pedros branching off eachother.
over time, im pretty sure the roots have bound &
the branches at the top arent getting enough water.
.

so i propose to take the branches off and repot
in thier own pot.
anything i should/shouldnt do?

should i cut the pedros off or snap them off?

i also would like to replant the mother plants
as the soil isnt satisfactory..etc.

yadda yadda yadda.

check out my hydro san pedro thread. mabee now is the time for you to switch to hydro cacti.

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/3382208/an/0/page/0

But as far as the root bound plants, the way I understand it, is to just plant them in a bigger container. slide cacti out of root bound container, get bigger container, fill bottom with cacti dirt, put cacti in, and add dirt around sides of root bound cacti. Eh?

cut the branches with a sterile knife and let them callous a few weeks before trying to root them. as for the mothers, repot them into a new pot only a few inches larger. them give em a heavy dose of ferts bwahaha!!! :birthday:

How large are the pups and how big is the whole cactus? What do you mwan by the tops werent getting enough water? What do they look like? I wouldnt try seperating the pedros i'd just reopt the whole group. Take cuttings 1-2' tall

I doubt the tops arent getting enough water. The cactus won't grow itself to death. I would repot the group together unless you are having balance/support issues.
