Oooooops!

Quick question, this is my first attempt to actually complete the entire growing process. Suprisingly my jars actually made it far enough to put in the terrarium this time! HOWEVER, I noticed afterwards that I used way to much water in the perilite. My cakes are growing on the jar lids, but water has come up and over the ledge into the jar lid (sorry if this doesnt make sense) in almost every jar. Now I've heard that it is fine to put just the cake straight no the perilite, so I was wondering if my cakes are now ruined or if some water touching the cakes is no biggie? Thanks.

Btw, I am using a large tupperware container with a fish tank air pump with a blue light inside. I just realized that my bubble wands are blowing water through the holes in the jar lids and therefore to my cakes.

Psykotic!

Move your cakes to one side or take them out completely. Tilt the container and remove excess water.

Your cakes should not be sitting in water. It is a really bad idea.

where they standing in the water, or where they just touching some drips? well if you can see water on your cakes, you should soak it up with some dry toiletpaper.

Thanks for the info, I know it was stupid for putting them in their at first anyways, but I guess im just a newb. I have noticed that there is a small amount of perilite stuck to a few of the cakes, is THIS going to be a problem now or should they be okay? It is on the sides not on the top. Thanks again!

in the places where the perlite is stuck wont be any pins.
so if they are covered with it, it might be a problem.
also it might support contams if its not clean.
