If i'm not mistaken, this was recorded on September 3rd, 1968 in France. At this point, Jimmy Page was the leader of The Yardbirds. This must have been very shortly before he renamed the band Led Zeppelin. I really like this version. I've never been much of a Led Zeppelin fan because of Robert Plant's voice, so it's good to hear the song this way. I also like the alternate lyrics. Enjoy.........

Very Nice.  His solos and guitar have such a 60's sound in this rendition.  Thanks a bunch!  :grin:

You guys deserve a treat after a hard day's work.

There's a least one other version of this song by The Yardbirds that's one minute shorter. There's at least one recording of Plant with the band calling themselves "The New Yardbirds". Then they did the right thing and changed their name.

Just imagine if the lineup in the above mp3 had been the one's who put out the Zeppelin material.
