soundcard (music recording)
    #3379257 - 11/18/04 11:53 AM (19 years, 4 months ago)

A friend of mine purchased a sound card for his computer that comes with an internal/external hardware where you can plug your amp chord (i dont recall the size) into. So with this, you can plug your electric guitar directly into your computer and record it using your chosen software. I was thinking of using Reason.

Does anyone know the name of this sound card or where i could buy it online? I'd ask my friend, but he works a lot and i dont talk to him often.

I have one similar. there might be a few different kinds/brands. But mine is a Creative Audigy Platinum eXT

Creative's Audigy line has versions with external boxes that have a TON of inputs.

Check out this guy--the next gen of mine:

You could just get an adapter from Radioshack (mono 1/4" to stereo/mono 1/8", most likely) and plug it into your existing soundcard/mobo, assuming it has an input/mic jack. It would be a little noisy, but it's a quick and cheap solution.
