Some pans and cubes from Louisiana
    #3380514 - 11/18/04 06:55 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

I went on a walk today and took some pictures. Lots of cubes out there but I have so many right now I didn't even pic any. I picked a nice cup full of pan cyans though. Here are some pics:

Awesome photos.

It's good to hear you survived that heroic dose. Most experienced psychonauts wouldn't even think about attempting what you did.

Beautiful mushrooms. Happy hunting.

Ok, first off, NICE SHROOMS :mushroom2:

next, are those PAN cyans or COPE cyans?

PS. Great picture of the blueing reaction in the coplandias... That is the clear indicator from the lookalike- Pan Artilums.

PSS... WHAT THE FUCK

you are finding CUBES this late in the year in LOUISIANA?!?!?

I find this to be the best time of the year for cubes. I'm only about 25 miles from the coast, and we rarely get hard freezes. We've had temps in the 50s to 60s at night and 70s during the day with rain every few days. I can find cubes year round, but fall/winter is the best.

2E- My understanding is that pan. cyans and cope cyans are the same thing. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I've always called them pan cyans.

Beaut cubes and copez! (Nice habitat shots) Isnt it amazing at how copes and cubes can look so different from state to state? Yours look a good deal different than mine that i posted- dont you think? or is it just because we picked them at different stages of their growth

I have a bunch that look like yours. I think you are right that it's just a different point in their growth. They are whiter when young then start to darken.

I did a couple weeks ago. Around 10 medium size ones (not sure the weight). Had a great trip though.

Super, I'm curious as to what areas of the fields you find the copes in. I have NEVER found a cope in my specific area. I have only found them in Baton Rouge, when I didn't even know what they really were(this was probably 10 years ago). I found them very near levees and some on the cow field levees around LSU. I have yet to find any in the Covington area. Makes me :frown:

I grew up in Mandeville/Covington (Riverwood). Now live in Lake Charles. These were found on the east side of the Atchafalaya Basin near BR, on a levee
