HL2 is definitely the best game i've played in a LOOONG time. the graphics are absolutely amazing - even better than Doom 3. and i would definitely say that HL2 beats out Halo2 (better multiplayer, better graphics, better PLOT, better controls, and better gameplay overall). They're different though - Half life 2 is a much more serious game. Halo2 is something a kid could play, but HL2 can be pretty scary with all the zombies, especially those new fast ones that jump at you.

but honestly get the game - it seems like every 5 minutes i have a cool action movie-like experience!

and the best part is the physics - they're absolutely astounding! You can take pretty much any object in the game and it reacts like it would in real life. There was one part where I needed to get past a gate in my buggie (you can drive vehicles in this one too) and I couldn't figure out how to get the gate up, and i was gettin pissed (i'm sure there's a way to raise the gate, but I couldn't figure it out). but instead what i did was I took a bombed out car, put it infront of the gate, and then moved a couple aluminum roof panels against it, and used it as a jump to get over the gate in the buggy! The physics let you do things the developers of the game never thought of!

I would definately get it but i'm sure it wont run well on my comp.

i have 2 ghz, 500 ram, and a geforce4
its only like a year old and it doesnt run any shit comin out these days.

what are the requirements for HL2, does it have alot of graphic tweaking options?
does it have 640x800 option?

Gah I would like to have the game, but im not willing to pay 50 dollars for it.. Maybe Ill try stealing it, hopefully my consience wont mind.

I have a good system, 6800 GT OC, 3.0 ghz HT ect...

I got the game yesterday (to keep my mind off of shrooms, and it worked!!! :thumbup: )The install takes forever, and I have a sata 8mb cache, after you FINALLY install it on your HD (it's 5 cd's) you HAVE to make a steam account online, verify your game online, then it starts installing from the files it copied to your computer.

It took me 56 min to install the damn thing. However the game is amazing. The action is...outstanding, it's never ending action, the physics really play off well. Worth the 50 bucks? Hrmmm...so far yes, more 40 bucks imo.

Oh many people have experinced (including me) "stuttering" to get rid of this, turn sound quality to low. They'll prob patch that soon.
