different clef note sets
    #3376331 - 11/17/04 10:12 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Why did they have to go and make the bass clef a different alignment with the notes from the treble clef? It's hard enough to learn one, without having to be able to switch back and forth between the two. Sheesh.

youi was a pig informatnt so you can go fuckyoruselfs

Why did they have to make musical theory so oddly complexified in the first place? Who knows.

Ever heard of 'the cypher'? It's this really interesting simplification of musical theory. I read about it once, but the way the instructions were written was so fuckin' boring I just couldn't keep going after a while.

It was a great idea, they just need to hire someone better at explaining it to explain it...

I think it only applied specifically to musical theory on guitar, though.

Yeah i hear you man. Every Good Boy Does Fine and Good Boys Don't Fold Aces was always how I remembered the two, but I still mix em up when I'm not careful. I'm in a music theory class at my college and I do that quite a bit.

Click the pic to hear some songs I've recorded.

It might have had to do with vocal range...

Back in the day, there was a guy named JS Bach. He pretty much solidified any existing techniques into theory and practice. His SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) format became the foundation of voice leading and harmonic movement.

Since a bass' range is about low F to middle C, there is a clef for it.

Believe it or not, there's about 7 clef's out there... My theory professor had to learn composition on every single one, even tho most aren't even used anymore.
