humidity?

since alot of the times perlite is to much humidity. could i just put like a bowl of water in my growin chamber. plus i also have a little leafy plant in there since that likes moiter should i use water or perlite. b/c i water tha plant every day does that give enough humidity.

p.s. i live in lincoln nebraska and the humidity here is usally pretty high.
