Fermented casing, can be fruited?
    #3373553 - 11/17/04 12:34 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

I have a casing that I was rather reckless with. I left the jars too long and when I cased (before %100 colonization), the rye smelled Very fermented. Otherwise everything seemed fine. The casing is incubating in a suitcase with an electric blanket(88 degrees give or take). Recently as the casing has been colonizing more, the fermentation smell is getting weaker. I'm going to wait until I am satisfied that the myc has killed the fermentation and then fruit. Think It'll work? Anyone done it?

Also once I have a significant pinset there is little or no point in continuing lighting, right?

nope, bacteria has the threshold and is going to fuck your mycelium in the ass. You'll still want a light cycle once pinheads are developed but you're probablly not going to win against bacteria. Good luck though.

Contam is contam, fermentation is a form of decomposition. What causes things to decompose? Contaminants.
