Another female hostage found murdered - dismembered, disembowled, throat slit
    #3373029 - 11/17/04 07:19 AM (19 years, 4 months ago)

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=st...4&ncid=1478

FALLUJAH, Iraq (AFP) - The body of a blonde-haired woman with her legs and arms cut off and throat slit was found lying on the street in Fallujah, a notorious enclave for hostage-takers, marines said.

"It is definitely a Caucasian woman with long blonde hair," said a military official, who cut open a cover that had been over the corpse.

The gruesome discovery was made as the marines moved through the south of Fallujah, hunting out the remaining die-hard rebels after a week of fierce fighting to regain control of the city.

"It is a female... missing all four appendages, with a slashed throat and disembowled, she has been dead for a while but only in this location for a day or two," said Benjamin Finnell, a hospital apprentice with the Navy Corps, who had inspected the body.

An AFP photographer embedded with the marines said the woman was wearing a blue dress and her face was completely disfigured.

The marines said she appeared to have been on the street for about two days.

Sweeps of rubble-strewn neighbourhoods in Fallujah have already uncovered a grisly underworld of hostage slaughterhouses, prisons and torture chambers as well as the corpses of Iraqis who had been executed, marines say.

Surviving hostages have also been found, but only one has been a foreigner -- a Syrian driver who was abducted with two French journalists in August.

Two foreign women have been abducted in Iraq (news - web sites) and remain missing.

One, Teresa Borcz, 54, a Pole, has blonde hair, the other, British aid worker Margaret Hassan, 59, has chestnut-coloured hair.

Borcz, married to an Iraqi and a resident in Iraq for 30 years, was abducted late last month. She has appeared in two video cassettes appealing to the Polish government to help her but her fate is unknown.

Hassan, the Iraqi head of relief agency CARE International, was kidnapped on her way to work in Baghdad on October 19 and has appeared in three videos.

She also holds Iraqi citizenship after marrying an Iraq and is a long-term resident of the country.

Apparently they draw the line at cutting off womens heads. In which order do you believe they carried out these atrocities? Let's hope they slit her throat first.

You see, we arent the only ones committing violent acts against our enemy. Although, I dont see the need to cut off all the limbs and leave the head. I would have have cut the head off too just to make a nice torso.

In which case stories like this should not bother you in the slightest, since it must be like looking in the mirror.

The difference is the US likes to make out that it, and its humans, are above commiting atrocities, and that is a phallacy.

a little freudian slip there?

of course the US isn't above commiting atrocities. no state is. such is war.

as far as "looking in the mirror"... i can't help but fail to find any examples of the US kidnapping and brutally executing aid workers.

seriously. killing aid workers who are there for no other reason than the help the people of iraq? what the hell do these people want?

the possibility of a free and democratic iraq undermines everything they stand for and require for support, and their goal is to undermine it at any cost. they don't give a shit about iraqis.

there was no Freudian slip - The US is the nation involved that has a code of honour and has signed treaties that outline "war crimes" and unacceptable behaviour. The US military is legally bound to uphold these agreements, and so is every soldier they sign up.

They all know that - that is their agreement.

This is obviously not happening - therefore the supposed code of honour is a phallacy. Why even have it?

There are plenty of examples of the US brutally killing groups of children playing, families cowering in fear in their homes, shooting people in cold blood, torturing prisoners etc etc.

Seriously, killing kids playing, women in their homes and so forth - what the Hell do they want???

The possibility of a (so called democratic) puppet state, firmly under US control, is all the US wants. Anyone against this wish of the Almighty undermines everything the US desires, and the US goal is to destroy them no matter the cost. Men, women and children.

The US doesn't give a shit about Iraqis - that's why over 100,000 possibly even 200,000 civillians have been killed in a year and a half. Sounds like fucking genocide, and that is what the USAdmin would call it if anyone else acted in the way they do. They're pretty hot on Saddam's 25 year grand total and may have exceeded it already!

Aaaah - the taste of enforced 'freedom'.

Really? Then you should have no difficulty linking to credible sources reporting a couple such incidents. Would you care to do that, please?

You can find these reports in pretty much any paper/news network:

They [Americans] hit two homes where the wedding was being held and then they levelled the whole village

the children were apparently playing nearby when the attack took place..."We have seen this before, so it's not as if we were speaking without experience," said UN spokesman Manoel de Alemeida e Silva.

"mistakes" admitted by US government in Afgan bombings:

Dec 2001: 65 killed in bombing of convoy of tribal elders
April 2002: Four Canadian soldiers killed
July 2002: 48 killed when bomb hits wedding party
April 2003: 11 killed by bomb in village of Shkin
Dec 2003: Nine children killed by bomb near Ghazni

"They were just playing ball and then the shots came down,? Hamidullah told the Associated Press. His eight-year-old son Habibullah was among the dead. US troops, including an army general, helicoptered into the village to offer condolences, and a US military spokesman described villagers as ?pretty understanding? about the killing of the nine children. According to the AP, however, local residents remained distraught and angry. ?First they fire their rockets. Then they say it was a mistake,? said Haji Amir Mohammed. ?How can we forgive them??

Violent deaths were mainly attributed to coalition forces - and most individuals reportedly killed were women and children.Dr Les Roberts, who led the study, said: "Making conservative assumptions we think that about 100,000 excess deaths, or more, have happened since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. "Violence accounted for most of the excess deaths and air strikes from coalition forces accounted for most of the violent deaths."

That's a lot of 'mistakes' - no wonder the natives are restless!

In July 2002, Afghan officials said 48 civilians at a wedding party were killed and 117 wounded by a U.S. air strike in Afghanistan's Uruzgan province. An investigative report released by the U.S. Central Command said the air strike was justified because American planes had come under fire.

the same admitted atrocity and 'unconfirmed' atrocity

Lt Col Ziyad al-Jbouri, deputy police chief of Ramadi, said between 42 and 45 people were killed in the attack, which took place about 2:45am. He said the dead included 15 children and 10 women. Dr Salah al-Ani, who works at a hospital in Ramadi, put the death toll at 45. Pentagon officials said they had no information about the attack, but said US forces raided a suspected safe house for foreign fighters

A statement from spokesman Colonel Bryan Hilferty at US headquarters in Afghanistan said the children's bodies had been found by ground troops of the US-led force near the body of the intended target. It regretted the loss of innocent life and the "tragic incident" was being investigated.

American military officials were last night trying to explain one of their worst blunders during the nine-month war in Afghanistan after a US plane mistakenly targeted a house full of wedding guests, killing at least 30 of them.

It is hard to know how much people outside Falluja are aware of what is going on here.I want them to know about conditions inside this city - there are dead women and children lying on the streets. People are getting weaker from hunger. Many are dying from their injuries because there is no medical help left in the city whatsoever. Some families have started burying their dead in their gardens.

Right I'm bored of that, there's an endles supply of detail if you care to look here, I have just scratched the surface - do your own research next time

And let's not forget what is happening today, right now - God bless all those innocents and all the killers too no matter where they come from or what they believe in.

The world is mad.

Only when you're around ..

Now are you going to provide a source or carry on posting random pictures and baiting people?

You can even add some of your usual religious sentiments if you want, I don't mind

...

Some of those stories aren't even confirmed to have happened let alone the details.

Except for the accidental bombing of a school in Afghanistan there aren't any examples of the 'US brutally killing playing children.'

Whi is it overblown and emotional statements are all the rage lately.

Baiting? That assertion of yours is fairly questionable.

The picture is from a blog set up days ago when the offensive began. It's one of dozens depicting mangled, maimed, and injured Fallujans - men, women, and children - as well as dead and injured U.S. soldier; so it's a fairly balanced site. http://fallujapictures.blogspot.com/

That site is pretty graphic, for those of you who are squeamish.

Why did you post that link? It doesn't even include any information on the picture, when it was taken or even who by.

As for arab7.com I can't read Arabic...

That blog just has random pictures of fallujah, from many sources. Most of the pictures do seem very reliable and accurate depictions of war. However, they do seem to be collecting photos from a variety of sources, and the simple fact that a picture appears on that site isn't very good evidence that it's from fallujah.

This photo was presented without comment; it is from arab7.com.

Arab7.com is an arabic-language forum. It has various pictures, and doesn't seem to have anything specifically to do with the Iraq war.

Basically, the picture isn't very high resolution. The tank doesn't look like an american tank. There isn't very good evidence that it's a picture of what's happening in fallujah, as the fallujahpictures blog claims.

However, overall I found fallujah pictures to be a pretty effective and interesting site; it's worth checking out, whatever your political opinion on the Iraq war.

Those children don't even look hurt.

One is lying down with her hands behind her head on a towel. The one at the very back appears to have her arm up with her hand on her head. There no indication that any sort of carnage even happened there. No blood, no mess.

Try again.

fallacy

the "freudian slip" was a referral to dr sigmund freud, who held that emotionally charged issues sometimes "subconsciously" contain a mis-speaking (or, a mis-spelling) of words used... often with a vaguely or even specifically sexual referent...

(& then there's "spellchecker" but - hoo wantz too spel rite ennywaze?)

------>
"fallacy" = untrue statement...

"phallacy" is not in www.dictionary.com , but there would seem to be a strong approximation of the word "phallus" having to do with male generative organ, the penis...

~
thus the freudian slip might have something to do with being a dick, or fucking somebody over, or getting screwed, or sucking cock, or some sort of rape or sodomy dealio, or something, i dunno...

or i could just be totally outa my head here, know-what-i-mean??????????????????????

so, has anyone read mark twain's scathing little book _the war prayer_ lately?

Shot that killed girl, 8

One year on family still awaits proper investigation

Nearly a year after Hanan Saleh Matrud's death, her family have accrued a small pile of documents that tell of a young girl's life hardly lived.

There is a framed portrait of the eight-year-old, her last school report card, her death certificate and finally the letter in English from B Company of the 1st Battalion of the King's Regiment that does not apologise for her death last August but accepts "as a possibility" that she may have been shot by a British soldier.

The letter, stamped October 12, is the last formal notice the family received of the investigation into Hanan's death. No charges have been announced, no court case begun.

Hanan's case is one of several highlighted in an Amnesty International report published today which accuses soldiers of the "unlawful" killings of civilians and administrative flaws in the way the incidents have been investigated.

Hanan's relatives live in a small compound of single- storey brick houses in Qarmat Ali, a slum neighbourhood on the northern outskirts of Basra. Open sewage runs through the alleyways between the houses and boys play in dirt green water by an ageing oil pipeline.

On August 21 last year Hanan was playing with other children in the narrow alley by her house. A unit of British soldiers from B "Champion" Company of the 1st Battalion the King's Regiment pulled up on the dirt road about 50 metres away at the end of the alley.

"They stopped at the end of the alley and they started giving chocolates to the children," her father, Saleh Matrud, a taxi driver, told the Guardian yesterday. "My child started to go towards the other children. But she is shy and she was afraid to go forwards so she stopped by a metal gate. At that moment a bullet came from the British and hit her in the stomach," he said. In fact, the bullet knocked his eldest child to the floor and sliced open her abdomen causing her intestines to spill out.

Her uncle, Faleh, ran out and picked up his niece's body. "I lifted her in my hands and took her towards the British," he said.

He said an officer he named as "Major Gary" took the child from him and placed her in the back of what Faleh called a "small tank". (According to the British military it was a Warrior armoured person nel carrier.) The Warrior drove Hanan and her uncle to a hospital near a Czech military base.

Despite undergoing a six-hour operation she died the following day, said Faleh. "At the time I felt anger and hatred towards the British but now that hatred has increased more and more."
