bulk fruiting question
    #3371177 - 11/16/04 10:24 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Hi I am a new to this site and have to say I wish I found it a long time ago. Well anyways I am planning an experiment with bulk fruiting. I plan to use a wine celler as my fruiting chamber it is 6X6 room with a seven foot ceiling the room is all cinder block. I plan on keeping the room about 90 percent humidity and have a thrmostat to regulate a space heater for heat. I am going to use a rye seed substraight caseing placed on wire shelving as many as I can fit in the room. For light I am going to use a couple florecents placed on the walls in the room. Now I guess my question is "Will this work?" I am pretty much close to the end of my planning and am just looking for anything that will let me know if I am waisting time and valualble colonated substraight. I know I can just make a bunch of chambers but it would seem like a waist when I have this room with nothing in it. Please if there is anybody out there with some ideas or criticizm please let loose I can all the info. that I can get. Thanks

ya it'll work. Im not sure how well the block walls were, maybe cover them in plastic, im not sure. How're you going to keep the humidity up in there?

Well because it is a celler the humidity is already pretty high it dosn't take much to get it to 90 percent but any higher than that is pretty difficult. thanks for the info.

cover the walls in plastic sheeting because the cinder blocks will soak up alot of moisture, and you might wanna invest in a hepa tower to filter the air in there because its hard to keep the air sterile in such a large place when the whole room is being used, also the humidity will be hard, but I'm guessing the room isn't to big, not a few humidifiers cant handle, and the space heater sounds good. even though i gave my best suggestions on this i have to say i have never done a large scale grow like this before so these are entirely based on what Ive seen and Read in my learning's so don't hold any of it to me,

I'd definately consider a cool mist humidifier. It can't hurt at all and even if your humidity is high, having it higher still is always a good idea.
