I?ve been hunting for a while but six months ago a friend turned me onto growing. He gave me some b+ spores and I?m using brf cakes. I got average output from the cakes without casing but he said if I cased them I?d get a better output. My first two casing batches have had little output.
I cut the bottom of gallon jugs and covered the sides and put three brf cakes between layers of 50/50 casing. I keep the casings at room temp (60-80F) and the humidity between 80-87%. The output is a few mushies but they are trees! The stems are the size of a shot glass and the caps are even bigger. Is this normal? He said I should get more mushies but they will be smaller.

Yes this is completely normal... you'll get more mushrooms .. just keep the casing layer moist... peace
