Good Bye Diplomacy; Colin Powell 'Resigns'
    #3363208 - 11/15/04 09:07 AM (19 years, 4 months ago)

I guess we all saw this coming.
One of the few people in this administration worth having respect for has bitten the dust. I suppose that's what happens when you're the voice of reason.

Anyone have thoughts?

I'm not surprised or upset. We're still going to keep trudging along like the bullheaded Americans we are, I will go to work in the morning, I will eat my lunch, I will hate my commute home, and I will sit in my apartment in peace just as before. I think I am done caring about politics until the next election, simply to save my own sanity. :smirk:

Technically Canada is no longer an option for draft dodging. But I'm all for it, dodging that is. Hurting and killing people isn't something you should be forced to do. You should have to be enough of a sick uncaring asshole to volunteer to do it.

he's already been re-elected, now is the time to usher
in an entirely new age of assbackwards policy and christian
zeal in the whitehouse.

I, for one, feel David Duke will do a great job as Secretary
of Education.

I heard they've fingered Ken Lay for Energy Secretary...

you'd fight if drafted, or are you self-righteously above the age limit?

I've already served but would fight if I was asked. It's not a popular position I know but it's one that I believe.

On a related, but side topic,
Education Secretary Rod Paige steps down too.
Quote:

Paige was the first black secretary of education. Paige drew fire earlier this year when he called the National Education Association, the nation's largest teachers union, "a terrorist organization" because the union had been highly critical of Bush's "No Child Left Behind" law. He later apologized for the comment.

Holy shit... what a moron! Too bad for him that's what he's remembered for when he steps down...

also the energy secretery Spence "I'm a bufoon" Abraham stepped down, he's from Michigan and the only time you ever heard from him was 2 weeks before election. He's the first republican that I voted against when he lost his bid for re-election in Mich.

I agree with you, I would fight if asked, but I would not sign up to do so just incase there was a conflict of interest.
