Yeah, well Here's something for anyone who might run into my prob.
Well I made a casing and it was a plastic container w/ a solid blue lid and I couldn't cut a hole in the top and put tape over the hole like people suggested so I did something else. Well I got some cardboard and tried to make a lid out of it.I duct-taped one side (the side that would be on the inside of the box) and well, i got the size perfect by getting a marker and brushing the marker around the edges where the lid goes, Then I pressed the cardboard down on it and it made a line of where the lid should be cut out. So i cut that out and then I cut a nice size hole out of the cardboard in the middle. (not to big b/c i didn't want it to fold over, making it a waste of time), After I cut a hole of out the middle i got scotch tape and taped up the hole, So now all i have to do is fan it every 4-6 hours and its great stuff, the water gets on the top and i just shake it off when there's too many water droplets (indicates there's too much humidity usually) so yeah, Presto. Maybe this won't help you at all or maybe it could help you save money or I don't really kno, it's kind of a pf lid tek, lol, very cheap and sad but hey it works and that's what matters, gl

Sounds like a good way to harbor contamination.

Not as bad as you'd think, lysol is great but it was tough to get most of the lysol out so that it wouldnt mess up the fruits, but yeah, its not the greatest idea, but its one if you absoultly needed it.

I'd rather do that with a piece of plexi-glass or plastic and put it on a hinge with a rubber seal around it... just to make it work to my standards.
my mushies don't get ghetto treatment, only the best love i can give.

Hmm. Diskman1 has a point. This is like making a lid out of bread. Cardboard is food to fungi and other critters. See the cardboard cloning tek. http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/25944
Staments has a nice picture of a flush of oyster mushrooms growing on one of his books. I'd rule out organic components as part of a grow chamber. JMO
