Jello to all, I have a  question about my cakes sitting in my pmp.well the issue is is that i took 3 cakes and cut them in half, i dunked one befor i cut it in half, now my problem is that i have 2halfs starting to pop up fruits and the others have no sings of fruits yet.why?also it is taking forever for the ones that have fruits to grow,i seen on some threads that they grow in hours.is that true>?the strain i am using is b+ and the temp is at 75% with the humidity at 90% please help. :smirk:

It can take up to two weeks. Give them a week before you start worrying at all.

That dunk could have given them some much-needed water.

Did you dunk and roll then double end case? This can help with cake yield (dramatically. :smile: use it myself)

Are you misting your cakes daily?

the one cake that i dunked then put wet vermaculite on top isnt event the one that is growing the fruits.

i have perlite with an airstone at the bottom pumping in air.i can tell it is working because water will build up on the lid of the pmp.

You dunked in the fridge?


If so, that is why it is pinning first. This is also known as "Cold shocking"

no the one i dunked is not pinning it just keeps growing miscellium and no pins but two other ones that i didnt dunk are pinning.

Sometimes the dunking and cold shocking makes it take a little longer to start fruiting, but when it does it willl probably get a better flush than the non-dunked ones. This happened to me as well. Just be patient and you'll be fine.

Agreed, dunking and coldshocking takes time. While that cake is going through that process, the other cakes have a chance to form hyphal knots and pins.
