way too many aborts

So my first batch of koh samui produced a lot of pins, but as the first of the shrooms began to break its veil almost all the shrooms had started to get black caps. should i just harvest the lot so the mycelium can start over again? Is it because there was so many pins that almost all of them started going black?
any advice would be much appreciated, thanks

sometimes it can be wrong that u tihnk they are aborts. even is you see their heads becoming black let them for 1-2 more days to be sure that they wont grow up.
More fresh air=less aborts and also dont mist them directly. throw some super fine mist from 2 feet above

sure spores arent turning the caps black?
try whiping one lightly.
aborts tend to hav more coney looking caps, too.
if they are abhorts, just harvest them and start over.

Black capped aborts wont produce any kind of unwanted effects? I hear if they're caps turn black, or if the center of a cross section of their stems turn black, they're rotten.

I dunno, I don't really like the aborts too much.
I ate a handful of the ones I got off my cakes over the weekend and got a little buzz going, but some of them were really disgusting feeling. Some weren't even like a fresh mushroom at all, and the cap was kind of hard/chewey.. I'm thinking of throwing all my aborts in a jar of honey from now on because I read of someone else doing that. After a few months I should have a jar packed full of'em.

Explain throwing them in honey?
It will preserve them. You can store mushrooms in honey for a long while is my understanding. I believe even fresh mushrooms can be thrown in honey, but that's only the impression I'm under, I need to find out if you can or not for sure before doing it.

anyone know for sure whether these are safe? They were also growing quite thin and long.

Yeah, I suppose.
That seems to be the leading cause of tall, spindly mushrooms.

You might want to try this with aborts. I found it in the Mushroom Recipe section...
Coarsely chop dried (or fresh, I imagine) mushrooms and loosely pack into some beautiful little jar which is shallow enough that you can reach its bottom with your finger. Add honey to fill all spaces. Hide in a dark, cool place and try to forget about it for a month or two. Eat by fingerful for brightened colors, elevated humor, musical enhancement, new friends and so on. When you finish a bag, add the crumbs to your mushroom honey jar. Occasionally replenish it with mushrooms and top off with honey.
