Giant 'elixir of life' fungi found on island
China Daily

A local on Nanao Island to the east of Guangdong Province recently found a giant glossy ganoderma - a rare type of fungus used in traditional Chinese medicine - while collecting herbs.

Measuring 70 centimetres long, over 50 centimetres wide and weighing three kilograms, it is the largest recorded specimen found in the province.

Shaped like a buckhorn, it is not only large, but also thick, reports the Guangzhou Daily.
