I've heard rumours that it's possible to get a high off of drinking your piss after taking mushrooms - is this limited to any certain species, or is it possible to get this effect from simple cubensis?
I really want to drink my own piss!

You're thinking of Aminita muscaria. The body breaks it down and makes it less toxic, but most of the active chemical makes it through to the urine. Recycling it is actually better for you than eating the mushroom because it has been converted to the active, less toxic form.

Ok wait. Amanita muscaria is poisonous and risky. What you probably read is that drinking urine from someone who ate the stuff is a little better than eating it yourself. If we are talking about P. Cubensis, there is no need to drink pee. Eat the shrooms and have a beer.

A. Muscaria is definitly not poisonous, while most any substance can be quite uncomfortable and possibly fatal if you consume too much of it (20 pounds of any mushroom will piss the hell out of your stomach). A. Muscaria had been used for a very long time as an ethnogenic substance and in ancient siberia (probably today as well), shamans ingesting the mushroom would ingest their own urine to prolong the trip for days even weeks. personally i would rather just have a good time with the 5 hours of non urine induced trip, rather than drink my own piss. your call.

actually it is poisonous. deaths have apparently been caused by it. Ibotenic acid is toxic. that is why there are so many warnings everywhere. yes it is a very valuable ethnogen and used by many, but it is used carefully and knowing fully of its possible ill effects.
if one wants to drink piss its better if its someone elses. eating it yourself to get high off your own piss defeats the purpose kinda. better to have someone elses body filter it a bit than yours.
ive always wondered about the slugs i constantly see eating these mushrooms. although im not too sure how one would go about collecting slug piss i wonder if eating the slugs would also promote the effects. and possibly the removal of the liver or whatever it is that "filters" it. be interesting for someone to try. im not a big slug/snail eater myself so i'll pass. but it beats drinking pee!

I have read about drinking your own pee, just by itself to help promote your immune system when you are sick.... Not something I think that I would be able to stomach, but I think it has been a prooven fact that it is actually "good" for you and your health....
I wanna~ say that 1/2 to 2/3rds of the active acids in Amanitas pass thru your system un-altered and un-metabolized thru your urine.... It was written in a book that I have (I can't remember which one) that in Russia, the rich would consume the Amanitas and go out to the outhouses to take a piss.... And the poor people would be waiting below to collect the rich man's mushroom urine to get fucked up for free.... This is actually documented...!!
I have also read that 2/3rds of MDMA is also passed thru the system un-altered.... I just learned this within the last week or so, I think in "The Psychedelics Encyclopedia".... Doesn't sound too appee-ling to me, but if you can stomach it, and you don't have much money.......... Blaaahahhhhh

dont ever drink your own piss
you can do better than that. just go get some more mushrooms. im aware its just a way of filtering but i dont think its nessecary to put yourself through piss drinking.
anyway - shroomers are comparitive to snails. we both-
like eating mushrooms
like being in nature
move slowly
sometimes feel like our eyes are on stalks
sometimes get sucked up into clouds
have our respective 'shells'

When it comes to AMANITA MUSCARIA
it makes excellent sense. Whether you would want to is something else.
Muscimol and Ibotenic acid are near unique in that you pee it out virtualy unchanged. If you would drink rine containing it you would get high.
If you want to do this, only drink your own urine as to not catch a disease another person might unknowingly carry. Urine in itself is not a toxic substance and in fact has many healthy components.
It is a taboo but unlike fecal matter you won't be harmed by it.
If you were to eat Amanita muscaria (Fly Agaric) drinking your own piss would boost and sustain the effect for quite some time.
I on occasion sample a drop to check my urinary sodium/potassium balance and output by its flavor on hot days (I'm a cardiac patient, a sci guy and a general loon) but I can't imagine drinking a glass of it. Not drinking urine is one of the few taboos I have grown attached to over the years
