They'll all contain the exact same active ingredient, but will vary to the left or the right a little bit on how much of that ingredient they actually produce. Every trip is different, so all those descriptions on that site are most likely based on the personal experience of ralph but you'll have to see for yourself exactly what they do for YOU. That being said, Koh Samui is incredibly forgiving, and is a pleasure to grow. (My first one)

Psilocybe Cubensis are good for beginners. Trying to make it any easier than a Cube isnt too realistic.
You will do fine.

I've noticed my B+ jars colonize 2x as fast as the PRs.

I'm convinced the best strain of cubensis is burma...its the super strain..I've personally seen it kill all different kinds of contams including bacteria...it has the best pinsets of any cubensis I've seen...it recovers the fastest from shakes etc...very fast colonizer all around...and because of the great pinsets it puts out the most weight...and the mushrooms are almost always all picture perfect and even
I haven't grown all strains but I hightly doubt theres another strain that will be so dominant in all areas like burma is

I've definately noticed differences from strain to strain. Thai tend to be more long skinny mushrooms, where as south american strains were lesser, but thicker and bigger. Even though these are just my observations, the differences one person takes note of, might be completely different from another's.
ralphsters is great people, and I highly recommend them. Some of their descriptions make sense, and are nice when they say where something came from. But remember, they're in the business to sell. There will always be hype, look past it. Very few of his strains say anything negative. "This is crap slow, totally don't buy it" etc. The only exception I can think of is the african description says the strain needs work. Right on.
The *main* thing to keep in mind is that different strains may grow differently for different people using different methods. But your method, sterility, spawn, casing, substrate, growing conditions (heat, humidity) matter SO much MORE than which strain you buy.

hermit120 said: i've heard this statement on this board alot "a cube is a cube", but in viewing ralphsters.com i see he gives varying descriptions of different strains and their potency of effects. which is true? some strains r more potent or a cube is a cube and there isnt a difference in effects?
physicly they are similar but do vary a little, the 'active' properties are more dependant upon the user, the "cube is a cube" comes in more along the cultivation lines they all have the same sort of growth parameters for incubation and fruiting.
