I'm confused here, are we saying this pic by Hanky isn't a cereus monstrose?

Is there any simple way I could test for active alkaloids in the cactus without having to remove an entire foot of it?

Actually Hanky, I think that might not be too bad of an idea... If the gods allow my inebriated soul to communicate with my cactus, perhaps it will be able to tell me if it has any sacred alkaloids within.

If it says yes, I can at least give it a try... and if it doesn't test positive, no one will be hurt.

I think i'd bioassay almost any cactus that looked distinctly trichocereus.
