Have you been having any trouble with contaminates? Do you have any suggestions on how to cut down on contams (Besides the regular sterilize every surface method) using this method?

Awesome. Do you put it on the highest possible setting? I'm almost at sea level.. probably like 400 ft above it. How long should I boil the jars for?

I use an old pressure cooker that no longer has seals available to buy. I figure the temps in this old PC will get higher than a traditional pot. But anyway, very little problem with contamination - probably 5 out of 40 have been contamed

if you are using the PF tek I would go for 60-90 minutes with a lid on the pot at your altitude, if you are trying grains I would recomend a pressure cooker

I'm not sure but I think PF Stands for Psilocybe Fanaticus. They made that method. It made it easier for people to grow. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
I used boiling water to sterilize. Out of 11 jars only 1 contamed. That one was probably my fault because my my cleanliness was pitiful, I didn't thourougly clean my work space etc.

I've never had a contam during colonization of pf using a pot. But I've also never had one using a pressure cooker with pf, grain, karo, or agar.

I just want to add that when Pressure or boiling, you should use Distilled water to avoid leaving mineral deposits all over everything. I recommend that you add the measuring cups and stirring utensils into the pot or PC.
My experience with this process says "Get a pressure cooker as soon as you can afford to"

I've had great results so far, i'm just using brf cakes and i noticed that you dont need it all the way up, otherwise you get a BO (boilover....) and that sux and you lose lots and lots of water, but if ur getting contams then it's probably your workspace or w/e your using may be full of contams or some super-infectious-bacteria. Maybe you need to PC? Well i boil for about an hour and they usually turn out fine, i'm throughly clean thought : ), gl
