games
    #3359230 - 11/14/04 11:43 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

took 4 gms. of dried cubensis.
the initial speed seemed much less harsh than when
I ate some fresh ( 27 gm) a few weeks ago.
after only about 20 minutes I was starting to trip.
the whole take off seemed smoother than the fresh
( don't know if this could be dose effects)
when it really starts to hit -
it makes me "sleepy" - puts me in a "Mushroom sleep."
"eyes open" becomes tiresome.
strong hallucinations.
life review - friendships / relationships
it feels like what a near-death experience might be like.
a sertonin-induced energy that trumps everything
else. it obliges you to surrender. it allows you to
become a "watcher" and not a doer.
it led me to a conclusion --
which I actually managed to type - while I was still
really soaring. (the irony is - to even report this is
a game )- but anyway - this is what I wrote:

my personal philosophy ?

1. game =
anything whose importance is relative
( relative = negotiable, temporary, constructed, you can?t take it with you,)

2. key question: what is not a game?
love? game.
your denial when I call love a game ? is another game
religion. game.
Freud. game
all of psychology. game
every emotion you ever had, every thing you worry about
(and most certainly this absurd exercise ) ---
game. game. game. game.

3. should we feel sad that everything is a game?
to even ask the question is a ridiculous game.

4. is there anything beyond games ?
is there anything that is really REAL?
Jesus?? my mother?s love?
to even ask the question is a ridiculous game.

5. does this mean that Buddhism is the answer?
to even ask the question is a ridiculous game.

6. should we play games?
of course, as long as you realize that they are games.

7. hope is a game. hope for life after death is a game.
does this mean we plunge into despair?
no - despair is also a game.

8. what are we left with? honesty identity courage faith ???
nope ? all games. games. games.

9. how should life end?
no regrets ? they are games
no guilt. fuck guilt. guilt is a game.
sadness. it is a game.
does this formula sound like the final answer?
remember ? it?s a game too.

10. is this whole argument ?too cute, too clever? pretentious and just plain silly?? of course it is !!!!! that?s the whole point: games.

excellent post.

the way i see it, just realizing that things are games is the first step (as you do) and then we are in a better situation. see we are free to play games (and why wouldnt we? games are fun!) but we do not become invested in them. we recognize them as games and not life or death crises, and not as the center of our identities.

many people identify themselves with a game. They are playing the buisness game? then they ARE buisness men, and to lose the game is basically to die, it is the end of your life because you have allowed the game to become your life.

whereas those who realize, can play a game with total joy, and if they lose, oh well that was fun, lets play another game!

also , cant recall who but someone smart and on drugs said the exact same thing, was it RAM dass? and he said that since EVERYTHING is a game we should find the best biggest game and play it. he concluded that the best game was the 'master game' the game of awakening enlightenment and self mastery.

but, what is the biggest game? deciding that is also relative, and also a game.

however, i have chosen the following games as the best games so far

1. the self improvement game. we have bodies and minds, so why not make them as strong and 'good' as possible? its a rewarding and enjoyable game.

2. the experience game. Theres lots of fun shit out there, lets go stick our nose in it and see what goes down! especially the travel game. we are given one chance to experience tis monsterously huge world, so lets travel and see as much of it as we can! Drugs, lucid dreaming and such also fit under the experience game.

3. the master game. This is like the first game but instead of just improving the body and mind it assumes we also have a soul or higher essence that can be perfected as well. and well, why not?

happy gaming.

what are your favourite games?

I enjoyed that! I use the expression of life being the grandest game of all to be played- a lot. I remind myself we are all on the same team. Because we are the creators of it, we  set it up for a win win. We can't ultimatele loose or fail as a team. We designed it to make ourselves forget that, we are on one team and that we won before we started playing,  so it could be played to full with all we have, beleiving in false oppositions, winners and loosers.

Knowing through memory that we won before we started playing and that we are on the same team, no true oppositions or lasting loosers puts the ease laughter and joy into it all as others remember, it's just a game- all for one and one for all.

Super cool post Silly! Welcome to S&P! You'll thoroughly enjoy the games and challenges taking place here! :nut:

"People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin,
When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange,
Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game,

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away,
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me,
When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall,
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball?

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go"

"As time goes by you will see
That we're going to be free
You and me, we'll touch the sky
Can you see in your mind's eye
That we are one
We're all the same
And life is just a simple game

There, by your side, I will be
When this crazy world is free
Free from doubt
When it finds out
Exactly what we're meant to be
That we are one
We're all the same
And life is just a simple game

Thoughts of another day
Flashing through my head
Thinking how life could be
All of the things that our great men have said
Be what we want to be
What we deserve to be
What we are meant to be

As time goes by, you will see
That we're going to be free
You and me, we'll touch the sky
Can you see in your mind's eye
That we are one
We're all the same
And life is just a simple game"

Ahh ja, I read Power of Now once, back before I was really more advanced in my ways of thinking in these "spiritual terms" (apparently it helped...). I always found that message to be a strong one, the one of games, and the importance of always being free of the game itself, while being completely aware and observing and experiencing....

One becomes present in the Now, one becomes free of emotional and mental jams, one experiences life with a richness and intensity no matter which game is being played, and life becomes whole and meaningful, every second along the way.

I think many people fall into the trap of thinking that the game is all there is. Our "real" self, the "player", knows the rules, and takes things in stride, aware that you can't always be up OR down. In the game we call "life", have fun, because if you are here, you have allready "bought in", and you might as well make the most of your "chips".

says it all really. i believe at one point we chose to be here playing this physical game, and we may well choose to have another go at it later.

well said either way
