University has done wonders for my mental health.

I just finished thuroughly cleaning my room for the first time in years. I'm showering almost every day. I cook some of my own meals. I'm doing my own loundry. I've been working out every day.
These seem like small things to some of you, but for somebody who has been struggling on and off with psycotic depression for years (think auditory hallucinations and severe delusions, stuff like thinking that you have to kill yourself to show God that you're a real man), this is not small feat.
Of course, to be fair, things are usually good in fall. But it's not really fall, it's November, and by this time of year my mind has usually almost collapsed. The daily routine of listening to people mock my weight and tell me I'm strange - while struggling to put up with simpleton teachers who are bassically fuck-ups from a real profession - would always make me feel like my mind was escaping me.
But this year has been great. I'm not really as reliant on my parents, Professors are actually relatively intelligent people, and so are the people.
Gone are the days of physics class where my professor would never show up, and I would be forced to sit in a goddamn desk, like a child in detention, and listen to overly made-up girls and under-washed jocks talk in loud booming voices about fucking each other.
Next year I think I'll move into res. For once, my life is looking up.
So, if your having trouble getting through school, trust me, it will get easier once you get out of there.

University was great for me too. First time I had any real long term relationship. Learned some great stuff. Never much used it, but I did gain some needed breadth of knowledge from my studies. I recommend university for everyone in the world.

I'm in my first year at college. It's cool, but not great. I'm not the most outgoing social person, but I've made a couple friends. Lot of hot girls though, fuck.
In the city I am in, there is one college and one university. So essentially it's a student town. Shitload of clubs, all young people.

Congradulations man. Sounds like a big feat and you should be proud. Taking care of yourself does wonders for.. yourself! Even simple tasks like cleaning the clutter in your room will make your mind feel much more clear. Keep that up and don't stop. I'll be doing the same.

Sometimes complete freedom will make you realize that you are the one in charge. Some eat it up, and some get eaten up.

I'm glad to hear you're doing better.
I haven't had a chance to talk to you much so please take these kind words from a total stranger.
-------------------- The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you, they're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away, but if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth... bloodflower6 Yay for Pornography!
