from some cow patties and want to know if they are edible. They look like something I have tried before, but want to make sure. They are gold on top and black underneath. I also saw some white ones, but have never seen or eatin anything like them before. Can someone post a picture of safe shrooms from cow pastures to eat. By the way I didn't pick the white ones. The gold ones look wrinkled on top and very flimsy....Hope this helps....Thanks......-HeyHey

The white ones are most likely Lepiota's---they are toxic and are sometimes pretty large. They grow right beside the Cubies --- The gills are white and are mostly distinguisged by the scaling on the cap---brown flakes you can peel off.... You really need a better ID and I dont recommend eating the other type you found with the golden cap and dark gills but that does match the description for a psilocybe cubensis which inhabit cow manure. Search Googles images for Cubensis and you'ss see some of these psychadelic guys. Be careful though, Aminitas and Lepiotas can become slightly golden and there gills turn darker as they age so please get a positive ID before considering injesting whatever you picked.

I got ahead of myself and read that as 'found' some cow patties...so you can imagine how confused i was by the time I got down to the end of the quoted part..
Not sure where you tried shrooms before, but if its from/with someone u know fairly well, maybe they know your area, unless of course they were home cultivated.
