I had a hard time trying to put this into words so I apoligize if comes off akwardly.

Do you ever feel like the life you know is like a shelter you build in your mind? It's completely imaginary, but it is comfortable and easy to live in. All too often we see little holes in that shelter. Like the place we live is made out of a cloth of our imagination, but there are tears everywhere. And we can see outside a void and a wild expanse of space. If you look at these holes to long you remember that your shelter is nothing but a dream and really you are out in the open, like a whale floating in the ocean, with no place to hide.

It can be fun to roam around out in that infinite space, but most of the time we try to imagine it isn't there so we can live easily in the our small familiar tent. But try as we may, it keeps falling apart and we find ourselves exposed to the abyss.

All the time we are looking for some kind of home, and trying to build it around us, but sometimes we can't help but notice we are lost in space.

Definitely.

I feel this way most often if I am out and about doing things on my own. Whether it be going to a store to buy this or that.. or swinging by my parents' house to pick something up.. whatever it is, for some reason I start to get this feeling whenever I don't have the security of, simply, company.

yeah same here.  i however am a space beast who is willing to spend all day making and spinning more thread for my space tent :smile:

Good analogy. I once literally saw one of these holes (when beshroomed of course): I was looking out the window, and all I could make out was the same kind of static you see on a tv. Guess that told me the houses we build are also nothing but imaginary shelters from the outside world. They might stop the rain, but they won't stop cluster bombing.

you guys need to read illusions by richard bach. very similar to what you are describing except for holes its all about illusions.

wow man i totally know what your saying. you want to experience roaming around through the infinite experience-space out side of those holes? learn to lucid dream. it is absolutely unreal to be fully concious and realize that the reality that you so clearly percieve is absolutely unlimited and ANYTHING is possible. wow.
