My friend has been using coir. He really likes this stuff, but would like to go to the next level in cubie cultivation. What do you suggest?

So coir is the pinnacle?

You could try fruiting P.azurescens indoors.

you suck.. I didn't understand the q. Are you saying you want to move to a bulk tek? Dung and/or compost maybe? There's been some compost recipes changing hands. Worm castings and other poops can be used in bulk teks also.

I don't know if coir is the pinnacle, but it's pretty useful. When making woodchip/sawdust blocks, I surely would rather use that than vermiculite. Reishis eat it up.

Anno - thanks for the suggestion.

Egghead - my friend says that he really enjoys the fruits of his labor, but he also enjoys the cultivation part of his hobby. He has tried many different substraights as well as casing material. He has used coir with huge success but just wants to try something new. He has not moved into the poo realm yet because he has not seen a whole lot about it. Any suggestions for poo would be greatly appreciated. Also any other suggestions are welcome. This thread may help others who are looking for alternative cultivation techniques.
