problem sterilizing
    #3355104 - 11/13/04 12:09 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Hi, Ive got a problem sterilizing. I have a burlap sack containing substrate. It has to be put in boiling water then it is suppose to simmer for awhile. The problem is I have no pot this big and cannot get one. Ive came up with a couple possible solutions.

1. I could get a large plastic and fill it up with boiling hot water from kettles?

2. empty half into a bowl then put the burlap sack with the other half into a small pot. Then when ready empty into the mixing bag. Then repeat for the other half of substrate.

what do you guys this about these solutions and do you have any others???

thanks

I thought straw was what was used for bulk...not hay?

I wouldnt cut corners on pasteurizing bro, go to wallmart and buy a huge pot...I know they have one big enough, unless your spawning to a pickup truck bed.
