beads of water on cakes
    #3351428 - 11/12/04 02:16 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I put a pad heater under my perlite chamber and now the sides and the top are all drenched with water. one of my cakes has condensation covering one side of it. Should i ditch the heater and let the temp drop or towel dry it? its been seven days and still no pins. i think its because they're water logged.

if there is condensation on the cakes then i would towel dry it and then just lower the heat some. you could put a towel between the pad and tub to lower. try not to touch the cake very much either while doing this.

Well you don't need to drop the temp if its 70, if anything get it up a few degrees, but it should be ok if you don't go below that.

Sounds like fun, either the temps. to high or you have very very damp perlite Or maybe your room is way colder than the outside, which explains why there's so much on the sides but on the cakes? Not so sure about that one...Gl..o and tiny tiny droplets are ok, but the bigger the worst,...later

The extra condensation is because the extra high temp diff created from heating the pod. You might want to consider a drip shield built into it.

I highly suggest against dabbing. Don't dab. Dabbing is contam risk and also will damage you cakes. Fan instead.

Also see if you can wrap the lid with clear plastic seran wrap about 5-10 times. This will create a air pocket that acts as a buffer. The light penetration will suffer though. Good luck

Sam
