are contams an issue

man that c word just depresses me to high hell but anyways now that my casings have pinned are contams still a formidible issue i might have to face or are they like cakes and less susceptable? :crazy2:

They're less susceptable, but that doesen't mean they aren't a concern. You should always try and keep things as clean as possible.

and also make sure that the materials you are casing with are not overly wet
I've lost many casings to the green meanie from over wet vermeculite

thanks prisoner, that gives me all the more reason to change my perlite

perlite isnt really a problem, add a little h2o2 to it or heavily spray it with
the stuff and it's fine, it's used to help increase humidity
vermiculite is whats added as a casing layer to hold moisture
