Veteran's Day celebration, . lots of cyan pics.....!!
    #3347337 - 11/11/04 05:05 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

What a beautiful day, didn't have to work, and I finally had the time to go for a hunt. It's been far too long between walks. But I could harldy believe the generousity of Mother Earth today. I finally resolved to sitting right down on my arse in the wet grass and thorns, some of these patches took an hour just to clear the section. Borealis of course, plopped right down 15 feet away, we decided to start and work our way towards each other. We literally picked a a circle around every small tree in an area. And It literally took 3 hours to clear a small area. And for the size of the haul, we left just as many pins and still growing ones behind.

Incidently, MJ found his sciccors just around the corner from where he left them weeks ago, although they were in my hand when he happened upon me. He was kind enough to wait until I was done picking the entire spot, must have been an hour more....lmao!!!!!!! He did trade me a little pair of red scissors, but he could have kept them.....lol....they wouldn't cut six fat stems at a time....lmao!!!!!!!!

What a beautiful shiney happy day! This guy watched over us and kept us safe!

These little groves wrapped all around and through the little trees

long-legged brown-eyed, tall drinks of water, staring at me!

Just like picking daisies! These make me smile more

We were afraid to step, every overgrown patch of grass had another trail leading else where.

I couldn't even sneek off to make a river without finding them, i picked-and-peed.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures. We had a great morning!

Well, I was just going to let Meadownymph post the images of todays hunt, but things went so well that I had to take more pictures. Oh, bother.. What a huntress she is! After we met you (MJ) and swapped scissors, homeward bound we went. Checked a couple spots on the way with average success... A couple of handfuls. We were all set to relax for the rest of the day, but when you told me over the phone about the the cop that hassled you minutes after we left I thought to myself.... "If there are cops there, then there are probably more mushrooms there too." What a motivator you are MJ Shrooomer!! After we went back, we picked another six pounds until night-fall.   Just so you know I'm not feeding you a line of bull, Your lil' red scissors we swapped are in a pic of the new patches.

This is by far the best day for Cyan. Hunting I have ever experienced. We picked from sun-up to sundown with a lunch break. The lack of rain, but foggy mornings have yielded the smallest (dime to quarter size caps), but healthiest long stemmed delights...   When there are thousands it makes ya' grin. I have a contact high through the fingers.... Perhaps that's why I so boldly returned after MJ warned me about the impending doom which awaited Meadownymph and I upon our return. I can't believe the cop thought she was being raped just because she was rolling around in the grass and giggling. Anyway.. Here's the habitat pics.

I have never seen hands this small.

These are our new scissors.

Lovely.

Yeah, If we had had some rain they would have gotten big. As they were... small but mature. Takes a lot more time to pick them, but I'm not complaining. The spot itself is well known, so it was time to harvest or suffer heartache. Meadownymph and I have seen patches and patches of pins dissapear from this spot.. I am soo grateful for this hual.

Happy hunting.

I think this belongs in the urban legend thread. Drink O.J. if you want and decide if it gets you off more or less.
