Are these still ok to eat?

I have about 1.5 g's of some booms I have had in a plastic bag for about 3 months (a generic weed bag). They don't show any visible signs of contamination. The only thing that has changed in them is they are now soft. They still can break and crack, but are more squishy and soft.
any thoughts?

Probably from moisture in the air.
Do they smell weird, or just like other dried mushrooms?
If everything seems fine, I'd eat them, but I'm a bit reckless. It's your body and life, it's all up to you though. I think your chances that they are bad are much lower than the chances they are still good.

Yeah they probably picked up a little bit of moisture(like a bag of chips goes stale), from being in a sammich bag. They may of lost a little bit of potency and may not be as palatable but should pose no danger to eat.
If they where getting rotten you would be able to tell.

I've eaten mushrooms that grow in the grossest casing you ever saw. One was all black and grew sideways. It was so wet it burst. I dried it and it shriveled up to nothing, and stayed black.
got me high though

Yea I've eaten some pretty black mushrooms that took too long to fan dry.
Took me 4 days of on and off fanning with them being stored in a ziplock baggy wrapped in papertowels and then the baggy was surrounded by ice. Wow were they sick looking. But I had a good trip from them.

If they're too bad to eat, you'll know for sure. You may get a bit of a stomach ache, but if you're really in doubt, throw it out. It can't cost more than $20 dollars in your area to buy the same amount of shrooms. I wouldn't wanna risk having a bad trip. I can't make myself purge if things go wrong, some people I know are like that too.
Just be careful and use your best judgement. Wouldn't wanna have a less than steller experience with mushrooms.

Well since we're on this subject I have a question that I've wondered about before..
If you do happen to have some mushrooms that are going bad and hypothetically you just ate them anyway.. would you still trip?
I'm not saying do this, or that I would do it, but would the bacteria that's causing the mushroom to decompose, also destroy the psilocin inside, or would it remain intact?
Perhaps a rotten mushroom could be used for psilocybin extraction?
Any thoughts on this, and also what is the worst case scenario on sickness with this that you can come up with? Please don't just say death, I want to know detail if you happen to have any idea.. like which organs inside it would affect and how.
Answer the questions that you can or all if you can.

they smell the same. No color difference or blackning. just a little softer. I think I'm good.

awesome. I'm chopping them up right now . Also, does anybody know anything about the effect of taking booms with orange juice. I heard it kicks it in faster, I just like taking it with OJ becuase of taste.

I use oj simply to shield the taste. A lot of people say the OJ effect is a myth. I disagree. But I don't think it does a lot for you at the start of the trip. I think certain foods can enhance a trip. Usually after my peak I eat chocolate or drink OJ. Both appear to give me a jolt. Maybe it's in my head- but ain't that the point! I think what happens is that if you haven't eaten in a while, the sugar spike gives you a high that you don't feel without the drug. JMHO!
