Psycolobin extraction

If you do a psycolobin extraction using 200 proof alcohol on mushrooms that you suspect might have toxins in them from contaminants would the resulting mixture be ok to consume? It seems like it would since you're just extracting the psycolobin from all the other junk...

When you do a polar extraction with ethanol you are getting most of the polar molecules into your solution. You will be getting any special toxins that contamitants might have left, and I'm not sure what these are, if there even are any. Just be aware, you are getting much more than just psilocybin, it is only the most psychoactive.

I'm assuming by psycolobin, you mean psilocybin?
I'm sure that would be fine. Any contams are usually organisms, not chemicals.

hehe, yeah, psilocybin... Yeah but don't some cotnams produce toxins which aren't organisms that get into the shrooms? Or are the toxins just other organisms too?
