do this with sterility:
cut a piece of a mushroom out. take it from the center of the mushroom so it hasn't been exposed to the outside, where the contaminants are.
stick that mofo in a sterilized jar, like a grain to grain.
As i understand it (i've never tried this) the fungal tissue from the fruit still wants to grow, so it'll start a mycelium network on the new substrate.
right?

Why would you want to clone a mushroom? Just to do it, or is there a reason for it?
Just asking 'cause I'm curious.

well hell if you have a monster fruit i guess it could turn out pretty well i would be really interested in hearing about what happens if you actually do this but my suggestion would be to pm magash i bet you he either knows how or knows someone who knows how
my 2 cents : definitely make a grow log on this

My understanding is that there are 2 main benefits. Cloning does not require spore germination and it suppose to "guarantee" exact duplication. In other words, if you have some shrooms that are pretty potent and you clone them, the next generation will be of the same genetic origin and thus, will have equal potency. It is believed among some that the potency does in fact, drop, after a few generations(I don't recall how many)

i have also heard you can make sporless mushrooms this way just pick ones that have little amount spores and keep picking the ones with the least spores and 5 or 6 generations later almost no spores
although i see no benefit to this its a cool experiment

I once posted a question about potency lost through genrations, and pretty much the feedback I got was to use the karo tek.

you can do this with the karo tek also, i just started to use the karo tek and started 4 jars and two of them with the inner tissue of a stem from a b+ and a creeper and they are blowing my other two that was made out of syringe's away, this have minimal growth while the other two could probaly be used with a almost quater size blob in there.

This is why you clone..you can do that to get any particular trait you like. Take the quickest shroom, biggest, most sportulating, weirdest, most mutated..whatever you want and after a few generations end up with a substrain that is a particular way.

This is cool, I have a few weirdly mutated shrooms on my cakes I might try a little experiment with this.

Really? http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/25944
I am sure if you search the forums you will find more. While you may not find an exact "TEK", you should find plenty of info regarding the subject...

It will not necessarily mean you will get all big mushrooms, but it is a possibility. In reality you are more likely to get better, consistant flushes and good pinsets than monster mushrooms...
But it is possible. Depends on how the isolate performs on its own. Good luck!
