Lose the humidifier?

Ok, so I was having a problem with my humidity. First I thought it wasn't high enough, then realized by gauge was broken. Now I'm pretty sure my humidity is to high. I know why...I'm using an ultrasonic humidifier as well as perlite in my set-up. I now know that this is to much. Should I ditch the humidifier? I shut the humidifier off last night, an attempt to lower the humidity, I can't tell if it worked or not.
So...what is a girl to do?

Well, considering we shoot for 99% humidity, it's gonna be hard to have too much humidity. You can have too much condensation, however.
If you are having problem with water droplets on cakes/casings, then try putting the ultrasonic on a timer. 15min every few hours.
Good luck

It doesn't have a timer. I'd have to be here to turn it off and on throughout the day, I can't do that. I do have some moisture on my cakes, but it doesn't look like very much. Will this hurt them?

I think humidifiers are great...but PmPs are so damn fun to make and look so cool that I would toy around a little bit.

Yeah, Kido. I agree. But with Desiree, we've been through that topic.
Desiree, trip to walmart? Or maybe you can use the one from the light(if you have one) and turn the light on and off manually?
A little water on the cake might be okay... I keep mine fairly wet. But keep a really really close eye on them for contam.
Good luck

Timers are ~5$ at Wal-Mart.

I just may do that..buy a timer. I check on my cakes often, probably more than I should So far they look great. No contams, I hope they stay that way. So final outcome...keep the humidifier but keep it on a timer. Thanks guys.
