1st...ehh, 2nd Salvia Trip!

I got my salvia in today...some reg. dried leaves and some 5x so I mixed up a bowl of dried leaves that weighed in around .3-.4 g just to see what sally was all about. I had some trouble packing that much in the bowl and smoking it was pretty harsh but I managed to get it down and held in.
All of a sudden my hands started studdering and I couldn't talk so I took one more small hit to finish off the bowl and I laid back. All I really noticed was my brain thinking about a million different topics one after the other but I was completely aware of where I was and what I was doing. After a few mins of this I fell asleep and woke up an hour later like nothing had happened.
I have a test tomorrow afternoon so I really didn't want to experiment more today since it made me so tired I feared that I'd fall asleep and not get any studying done. Sooo...I picked up the books and studied for a while and as a treat I decided I'd give Sally another go before I went to bed.
This time I mixed up a reg. bowl to the top and took a pinch of 5x out with the tweezers and dropped it in. I turned off all the lights except for a dull green one in the corner and took a big hit off the bowl. 30 secs. later when I exhaled I hit the bowl a 2nd time and finished it off. Next thing I know I'm standing at the front of a shopping cart and my ceiling is the open air in front of me. The wall physically at my feet has now become the floor and my dog is jumping up from outside the cart nipping at my fingers. So I fuss at her and tell her to go away so she grabs a rope and starts pulling me through my room which has become one long hallway. I manage to reach forward and pull the rope out of her mouth and the cart gradually slowed down and things were back to normal. I never remembered laying the pipe down or laying down in my bed, but that's how it was when I "came back".
Definitely interesting and I know I only reached the edge of what she can really do. I don't want to rush into things and scare myself away from it though. Thanks for listening...I had to tell someone about my 1st trip!

Nice report man, sounds like a nice experience. I don't think there is an edge you can reach with salvia

yeah...you don't use your dog as a sitter? My roomates were in the living room watching TV and they knew what was going on so I guess they were sitting and they weren't sitting. Nothing really in here to harm me and nowhere to go except through them or the window which is really loud so they would have heard me trying. It's only a 2-3ft drop anyways into a nice pillowy bush that I've laid in a few times before on some drunken nights! I had a crazy dream last night too that I was watching a football game from the first row and the ref. started making rules like "personal foul on #15, he's only allowed to hit lefties", "only these 2 dudes are allowed to recover fumbles", "linemen weren't allowed to touch the ball period, no blocking passes etc.." so I was yelling at the ref and he comes up and puts me in the game. No one was allowed to touch me though so of course I got the ball everytime and our team won by a landslide. They'd charge at me and there was some force around me that'd literally throw them feet away from me. weiiird!!

Yeah the dog was really here. I remember her actually nipping at my fingers and feeling it, but the rope and her pulling it was obviously in my head.
The sitter in the other room is def. a plus. One of my roomies wanted to try it today after telling him my story from last night, but he wasn't about to take it w/o me "showing" him it was ok. blah! So I took a bowl like last night and he asked question after question while I was zoning out...it got on my nerves so bad I snapped at him and never made it past the being disoriented part.

Sounds like you had fun. Good luck on "breaking through". I still have yet to get more than just the lean on salvia. Have fun

Congrats on the nice trip.
Yeah, I've found it's important to tell your sitter to stfu before going in
What do you guys think qualifies as a "breakthrough" experience? I had a reasonably wild ride, but the whole time I was thinking "boy, this Salvia is kinda wacky" rather than being drop-kicked out of reality.

I've heard of people going into complete alternate realities like visiting the past and things like that. There is some technique involved (according to a friend). So if youre planning on breaking through you deff need a sitter but most likely you won't be able to move.

Well I finally get my shipment of salvia tommorow...and im doing some extract after work..I have experiance with mushrooms, but does salvia have pretty much some of the same effects? Mentally I mean. For people that have smoked both salvia and mushrooms and have tripped maaaannnyy times, does it leave your brain feeeling like it does on mushrooms? Or could I have 2 trips tommorow night....

I wouldn't say salvia and mushrooms have similar effects at all. Salvia alters your consciousness far more than shrooms IMO (if that even makes sense). It doesn't leave you feeling like you do after mushrooms, it's sort of a slap in the face...you won't know wtf just happened, and probably won't think it's possible I could smoke salvia twice in a night, but after your first breakthrough i'm not sure if you'd wanna smoke it again right after. It does leave you pretty tired afterwards (plain leaf is good to smoke before bed, puts me in a nice trance state).

When I attained what I think was a level 'V', it felt a bit like a strong shroom trip.
Is this "breakthrough" that everyone keeps talking about a level "I"?

Man, going by a system like that with an entheogen is wack! Take the experience for what it is, and don't attach more words to it (sorry, not trying to be a dick). If you breakthrough, you'll know it. It's a total slap in the face (a great one mind you), and will leave you thinking about it for quite some time.

I think the breakthrough term is not very good while the S-A-L-V-I-A scale is a good measure of personal effect.
IMO it is simmilar to shrooms, but the speed of ramp up and down is astonishingly different.
getting to level -V- or -I- 1 minute after smoking is bewildering to anyone experienced with anything else, then being utterly strange for 3 minutes and then returning is hard to compare with the other entheogens. But I think the kinds of layered sensory effects & time stacking etc. are simmilar.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm not trying to attach words to it, but I really would like to know what people mean when they say "breakthrough." For all I know, it could just mean that you've felt the threshhold effects. If it means that you've had a knocked-out-of-reality experience, then I'd like to know that so I can get there

the term slap in the face is good for summing up the sudden and astonishing effects which some declare as break through, it's just that "break through" is such an "american foreign policy" kind of "achievement" term, while with salvia, there is no possibility of conquest and nothing is broken.
