other than swami

is there anybody here who can honestly claim never to have had an experience that seemed paranormal, or outside of their conception of reality? in other words, is there anyone who has never had an inexplicable, totally bizare or seemingly impossible even happen to them?

wondering what the frequency of this is.

I'd consider myself to be paranormal, if that counts.

well, once while tripping i managed to tell everyone in the room where their keys, wallets/purses, and shoes had wound up by the end of the trip...
...but i was the one who had moved their shoes.

aside from that everything's pretty much had a very reasonable explanation

When I was a teenager, I often experienced things I couldn't explain.  Most note-worthy was the voices I used to hear.  My dad confessed to me at one point in my struggle that he also had heard voices when he was a teenager, so I don't know.  I stopped hearing them after I became heavily medicated.

Nowadays, my only "medication" is weed, mushrooms and other psychedelics.  To be honest, I don't really know what is paranormal or what isn't.  It's all life to me.

Everything I experience is normal relative my perception, as if it is experienced - it exists relative to my observation

That said though, I have experienced things that are not consensually labelled 'normal'.

I'm not that amazed even by the most 'abnormal' of things, for if it happens it is as real as anything else I experience. It is the only way it can be.

I have never experienced anything which I could not be reasonably sure was explained by what I understand about reality.

No, I have never had a "paranormal" or "supernatural" experience that I can remember.

I'm not sure what is necessary for an experience to be paranormal.

There've been things in my life that I thought were pretty damn weird, but more of an "I must be going crazy" way than a "I just saw an angel" way.

Edit:
just as an example...
I used to live in a very top room of a large house. I started hearing whispering voices, which I eventually figured out were coming from my sterio. I spent hours with my head next to my sterio (with the power off), immagining secret channels of communication and unspecified mind-controll plots. I felt that I was becoming very paranoid, but couldn't stop hearing the voices from my sterio. I brought one of my freinds up to my room, and got very ticked when he couldn't hear anything.
Eventually, by talking to people who had lived in the room before and using a better sterio with a larger antena, I figured out that the country music station right down the road was transmitting at a very high power, so that my radio was picking up their station even when the power was off. It had somthing to do with the way the old house was designed and the room I was living in, too. After listening to the country music station for a bit, I decided I was right about the mind-controll, at least.

I've never experienced anything paranormal or really strange while sober.

I never had any such experience. However, I do claim that I have a heightened sense of being able to read people. My intuition circuits are in high sensitivity mode under the influence of psilocybin.

Well, today I saw a commercial for cat food with "Chicken ? la Proven?ale" flavour. I'll assume that doens't count as paranormal, so here goes.

When I was 14, I had a mystic experience, complete with visionary and auditory sensations that were definately not around, while completely sober. When I was sixteen, I had a few more of those, and today I had another, though without the auditory component. The ones in my teens were spontaneous, while the one today was the direct result of breathing exercises and meditation. I must admit, while being in a room with twenty odd people, for a minute or two I heard no sound - AT ALL.

I take back my original response. I forgot a couple things that happened to me, specifically a pre-cognitive dream and a semi-OBE.

I have had some strange coincidences happen to me, but since they can all be dismissed as mere coincidences, it's not really anything that paranormal.

After experiences on certain psychedelics, it became apparent to me that I could experience sensory input while separated from my 5 physical senses, and feel the input as REAL. The Matrix is the closest idea (the matrix feels real, inside), I think, though anyone who has gone all the way on Salvia should understand.

With that in mind, what can I consider paranormal? :smirk:

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.---senior doobie

My life has been a freaking paranormal experience.LOL You'd have to ask me the question in reverse. What they hell is normal? Like def said, its all relative.

Phi1618, what did you mean about being right about the mind control part? Are you saying that country music is brainwashing us into depression? LOL
