I'm an aussie with a relevant story: I've never found one.

I suggest sticking to Copelandia cyanescens (aka Blue Meanies) and Psilocybin Cubensis (aka Golden tops, Golden Teachers, Blue Rings, Cubes or Cubies) as they are shit easy to find, and almost (not counting one who is both novice and ignorant) unmistakeable in identity.

hi again save the whales.

i'm middle vic, and so far we haven't had enough rain for mushies. or that's my theory at least.
about 4 weeks ago i found a paddock with field mushrooms dotted over it, but i think they must've been early starters because they sprang up after early rain.
it's been unseasonlly dry this year (i think) but south of the divide i've thought should of had mushies by now?
they/you had rain that didn't get over the divide and reach us.

i've been doing some pretty heavy searching and so far turned up little of interest to me.
i have found shitloads of amanita in the pine forests though.
so anyone who wants to find them, can get them now.

i'm praying for rain. i'm scared that it may get too cold, and we have a poor season.

hey morla,
im in east gippsland. i have heard of people finding in morwell, and marlo, both about 2 or less hours either sde of here, but i still havent found much.
i went out to a smallish pine plantation last night in fact, and it was FULL of mushies. everything you can think of.. just not what i wanted to find. have you got any suggestions?
sorry to hear about the lack of rain. we've been having quite a bit lately, the forest floor no matter where it is, is surprisingly dampish at the moment. odd.
i too fear that the cold may become a detrimental effect on the little shoomies soon.. arrggh!

peace and happiness

It says in the shroomery the Cubensis have been known to grow in near artic climates. Although I suspect that this is rather extreme statement, I doubt the relativley warm Australian winter is going to stop them growing completley. Anyway, I havn't been out looking for them and come back empty handed yet. But, I have noticed them becoming more and more scarce. Are you going to paddocks that you know them to grow in already or are you exploring uncharted territory? Does anyone with more experience than me know exactly how much cubes are affected by the Aussie winter?

I think cubes are affected by the Aussie weather. Here in California, they strongly react to the long vowel sounds from as far away as Australia, which is mostly where long vowel sounds come from anyway. But I was smoking a Marlboro the other day and I discovered when I pulled one out of the package and smoked it right away, it had the best flavor, but besides that, I don't know much about Aussies. It's really hard to not affect the mushrooms, I knwo because I used to be an environmental studies student, but aside from that even, it's mostly the Aussies, New Zealanders hardly at all affect psylocybin growth/potency, etc,. I am planning on looking for more mushrooms later on, because I like the way mushrooms look coming out of the ground. I have never really liked the way mushrooms look sold commercially, they are always quickly consumed, but beside that, there is really not a whole lot to sy besides the fact that mushrooms are really cool and I liek eating mushrooms. I have been drinking vodka lately, I like mixing vodka with carrott juice. I am thinking of putting my juice grindings outside, there are tons of grass clippings and they might start mushrooms!!!!!! Here is my grass clipping poem:
Grass clippings, grass clippings, all around and down into the Earth they are found in varying stages of decomposing sounds like grasss clippings grass clippings! They have green they have brown they have curled, furled, and unflurling because of the ground I step on grass clippings!! I'll go straight to hell and then after that really step hard on some grass clippings!!!!!!
