How Long Now?
    #3336489 - 11/09/04 11:00 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

A little sigh of releif.  My jars FINALLY today showed first signs of colonizing.  I woke up this morning, and one of the jars now has white mycelium growing under inoculation points.  A couple others have started to turn kinda foggy looking under the points.  Im assuming their ready to go.

Anyways, how quickly does the mycelium spread? :mushroom2:

Depends on the conditions like packing, water content(don't read too much into this one), temperature, etc...  But the growth builds pretty fast.  I used to check on my jars every few hours because there was definitely a noticeable growth each time I looked.  But of course, I have to tell you not to peek so much.

Good luck!

Sam
