Yep, that's how I do my dunks.
Some people use zip lock bags.
I just carefully remove the verm layer, dump in some clean water, stick a sterilized pin in the top of my cake, and put the lid back on.
The pin will keep the cake fully submerged.

Yes for first dunk. You should dunk/cold shock at the same time. Just pour some water in there so that cake is fully submerged. Use a needle or a paper clip or something to hold the cake down. It'll want to float. Mix in a capful of water per 1/2 pint jar and put the lid back on. Then put them in the fridge(not freezer) overnight or more(12-24 hours) and then put them in the terrarium.
I also recommend rolling the cakes in verm and misting it down before you put them in the fruiting chamber. Double end case can also be used, but I suggest rolling. You can always stack some verm like double end case after you roll them.
Good luck

Thanks...that sounds easy enough to do!!
Do you take off the entire verm layer or do you just knock off the lose parts??
Thanks...

I only take off as much as I can gently shake out. I don't scrape if that's what you mean. After the dunk, it's easier to get rid of old verm... And those that stick after the dunk, just use them as water source. Sporks are great for this. They have them for free at taco bell. Sam

I use empty CD spindles for my dunks. They are easily sterilized, and when you chop off the thing in the middle, you turn them upside down, fill 'em up, and screw the top(bottom) on. The clear plastic domes make good humidity tents for small plants as well.

Did you steal my idea, lifenergy? Sam The second dunk is messier and cakes have a lot of verm on them so I can't use jars. So, the dunk tank.
