    #3335636 - 11/09/04 12:23 AM (19 years, 5 months ago)

K I think this has been caused by water droplets.. but I'm not sure. There are some little spots on a couple cakes they look like hardened mycelium. the color is a bit tanish I dun think its contams.. it looks like something happend to the myc to make it hard lookin. heres a couple pics, they arent great but I kinda gives a jist of whats goin on

Way to blurry..not contams..I've had some wierd mushroom like growths (more like sclerotia) on myc before that looked similar but like I said too blurry to tell what it is for sure.

On cams like that your often going to get a better picture from farther away. Though the object will be smaller, it is usually clearer.

LOL. You know.. my light cycle when fruiting is 3 min on 2hr57 off. I don't think taking pictures will hurt them any provided you don't drop them or pick/poke them like little kids.

Like Sam said they wont be hurt. Unlike plants they arent photosynthetic and only use the light to tell them to grow up..they only need to be on for 1-4 hours once pinning starts (12 hours on prior is good though)..however mush it takes to make them grow up. I've found them to grow thicker bigger in the dark and that seems to be the findings of many others as well so you might want to think about that

That makes sense. I've been told to use 12/12 to initiate pining and then 6/18 for actual fruiting. But maybe i'll cut that down even more. And i'm curious.. after each flush do you have to change the light cycle or will it keep producing shrooms even with a small amount of light?

After each flush, it's like starting all over. I set back to 12/12 to set pins until I'm happy with number of pins I have or when they stop giving me pins over 24 hour period, I change back to fruiting cycle.
