Quitting smoking
    #3331914 - 11/08/04 02:29 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I quit smoking about two years ago, but started again six months or so ago. I tried to stop two weeks ago, but during my first week I gained 10 pounds despite a good diet and excercise so I started again. Does anyone know of a good way I can quit again and not gain weight?

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniencies attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson

weight gain is inevitable as smoking will speed up your metabolism. You can compensate by eating healthier for a while until your body adjusts.
