What do you think of this idea?

While just sitting here I started to think, what if you took a PF style cake and ripped it in two pieces, creating two shorter cylinders then placed on verm, a la the double ended casing method, and fruited. Do you think this would help increase yield at all? In my mind I think this would allow more surface area to be used but I can't really articulate why right now. I guess I haven't thouroughly thought the idea through and I'm looking for help doing so. Bad idea? What do you people think?

You've raped! I feel dirty
It hurt! As a child
Tied down! That's a good boy
And fucked! Your own child
I scream! No one hears me
It hurt! I'm not a liar
My God! Saw you watching
Mommy why?! Your own child -Korn

I'd just case it instead.

It's all in the water delivery. I don't know how many times I have to say this, but my cakes yield just about same amount as the casings(cake for cake).

If you have smaller substrate, you'll end up with smaller mushrooms and more aborts, because mushrooms have to compete for nutes and water supply. Longevity of the cake will suffer, too.

Just case them if you can't get good yields from your cakes. Casings are easier and takes up a lot less space in the terrarium.
