Libertarians and public safety.

Do Libertarians believe in Federal or State food inspectors? How about building codes and building inspectors?

I'm a Libertarian, and I believe that there should be at least some consumer protection such as food inspectors. Everything in moderation. Personal responsibility and liability should once again rein supreme (common sense, too!)

Excuse me?
Like I said, protecting consumers is something I believe to be a useful thing. We don't need it to the point where it's out of control. Everything in moderation, not everything moderated. Call me what you want, but I agree with a majority of the stances taken by the LP, therefore I believe myself to be a Libertarian.

I don't believe in inspection per se, but I do believe that if a company sells a dangerous product without informing the consumer they should be held responsible through civil suits or in cases of serious negligence criminal prosecution.

No Feds involved. Let the states do it.

You dont have to call yourself a Libertarian just because you agree with most of their views. I agree with them on almost everything but I am still non-partisant.
