I have questions.

I went to the local big box petstore and asked for coco coir. Employee number one said "gee, I don't remeber even seeing that, what's it for?" I said it was bedding for my gerble. We searched the section he thought it would have to be in without finding anything. He proceeded to ask employees number two and three who looked at each other for a good ten seconds and then shrugged their shoulders. I got fed up with these morons and said "thanks anyway, maybe next time," and started looking around on my own.

I came to the iguana section and eventually found a brick of stuff that looked a lot like the pictures posted here. It was labeled Coconut Fiber Concentrated Substrate. Brand name was Eco-something (ohh crap, i can't remember)

Is this the stuff?

Next, poly-fill? I looked in a few stores, mostly in the painting section, but I only found this stuff called Polly-filla,and it was that puddy stuff for repairing drywall. I am hoping to find some polyfill for my friend to build a double tub, but I don't know what this stuff is used for or where to find it. plz 2 b helping.

I wouldn't mind knowing about compost manure, but I haven't searched for information on that yet...

Its the same stuff. Eco-Earth. It is exactly what you want, coir is fiberous once it expands.

yeah, yeah, eco-earth, thats right. The stuff does not look like twine, it looks like a brick of compressed dirt.

I haven't been to check on poly fill yet, but thanks for the help.

polyfil is the stuff they use to fill pillows. you should be able to get it in a haberdashery or pillow shop. unlike cotton wool, it is not organic and so rarely do contams grow on it.

here's a pic: http://www.fungifun.org/polyfill/
