    #3328620 - 11/06/04 09:55 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

i jsut started growing this plant have been reading about effects and whatnot. just thought we could have a little discussion about this plant and its effects.

i guess to start whats everyone growing conditions? i just got it staked (it grew really fast and became top heavy) in a 4" pot of 50/50 cacti/potting soil mix. it seems to really like it. gonna repot cause roots are coming out the bottom. its under 1 18w CF and 1 18" daylight tube. seems to really enjoy. jsut gave it its first shot of ferts so im sure it will really take off soon.

Winter Cherry grows pretty well in the lower US outdoors. And one wants the roots to have access to as much depth of soil as they can to promote the Ginseng-like root. Do not look for truely narcotic effects, though in Ayurveda, Ashwagandha, or 'Stinks like Horse', as it's known, is mainly a male rejuvenant, and used for higher semen production in the body. Try it, it works for me. I have an Ashwagandha growing that's 2 years old now. It grew from seed. Next to my Licorice, and Valerian. I have Gotu Kola, Amlaki, and Neem, and Rudraksha plants as well. And some beautiful Tulsi. I'm gonna post a pic. I'm not trying to be a thread stealer.

Here's Tulsi (Krishna) in front of a Neem,

And here's more tulsi, with gotu kola at the ground, and amlaki seedlings behind.

I'm not bothering with a picture of my Ashwagandha because it's not very pretty.

sweet man!  thread stealer?  this is exactly what i wanted from this thread...peopel thoughts and pictures   keep em coming.  mine is still quite young but i also noticed the need for deep dirt.  its maybe 4' tall and i just had to trandplant it...the roots were a good 6' long.  i think it looks liek a weed, but still pretty in its own right.

im growing it in hopes of a mood lifter.  dont really know its effects other than that (and what you jsut mentioned), but thats my purpose.  i envy your valerian!  lucky bum.

I couldn't stop looking at the pattern in your sig. Nice photos.

kadakuda, the best mood lifter I know of is salvia d. It's not a euphoriant but it zaps depression very well even without tripping on it.

I just use it when I need it. Sometimes that's every day and other times its once every few weeks. There are things I like every day but sally I save for when I need her.
