Router Opinions.
    #3328226 - 11/06/04 06:51 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

OK I'm looking to get a new router since I plugged the wrong power cord into my old Microsoft MN-100 and it fried. I don't have no wireless devices yet but I prolly will someday so I'm shrooting to get a router with both wireless and wired ability. I'm looking at the MN-700 but on the wired side its just a switch. But the price I can get a MN-700 for is nice http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=44997&item=5730380444&rd=1

So basically, wireless is a plus. Low price is a plus, wired part MUST route and it needs to NOT fuckup all the different stuff on my network with a gay lil firewall (I can disable the firewall)

You might want to consider this Belkin router. I can't speak for its quality, but you can get it cheap.

oops.

i'm not 100% sure about this one (says it has switch and router, but there's no indication that the ethernet goes to switch rather than router - honestly, I don't really understand the relationship between a router and a switch), but, again, it's cheap:

I am using a dlink DI-714P+ wireless ap + router + printer switch for just a little under a month and have had no problems whatsoever. It is quite resonably priced and has decent range.

From what im reading it also does not route traffic on the wired end of it. Also having wireless is a plus but its not a must.
