How the War on Terror has affected me

In no particular order....
1) In early 2003, I was up for this kick ass job at the Dept. of Health - full benefits after 3 months, great salary, the possibility of advancement, and I would be able to pursue more schooling. I won't go into details, but I would've been working with certain pathogens and whatnot.
In late 2002, I was falsely charged by an ex-friend of stealing property that they had SOLD to me. Anyways, long story short... the job was mine pending an FBI background check. However, because of this bullshit charge (which was completely dismissed 7 months and $7k later) I was deemed a "security risk" by the DOH's lawyers and that was that. I went back after the charges were dropped by the state... but there were "no positions available".
2) My television now shouts more propaganda at me than ever before in my life. I watch the news because I feel it's my duty as a citizen to be informed, but I'd don't hear smart arguments in whole... instead I get soundbytes. At least during WWII it was more cutesy.
3) Flying is now a pain in the ass. And I can no longer get to my airport's terminals to buy my tax-free liquor unless I have a boarding pass. This also means that I can't ride the monorail (this used to be a fun late night thing to do every so often).
4) Spontaneous public performance art is now more times than not met with (unnecessary) police resistance. You how many times I've heard bystanders say "you just can't expect to get away with that these days..."? Fuck that.
5) My mother often goes into anxiety mode every time there is a change in the Homeland Security Advisory System's "threat color". This is usually paired with a barrage of phone calls from her - warnings of where I should stay away from, how much duct tape I should buy, and the like.

My television now shouts more propaganda at me than ever before in my life
Propaganda for who? Pink insists the entire media is a leftist conspiracy overwhelmingly biased against Bush.

Please provide a link to where he claimed the "entire" media was biased against Bush.
I'd like to read it.

Cute pictures. I didn't realize that the population of Iraq was so young. Were those all orphans?

Propaganda for everyone. Left, right, up, down... it doesn't matter, there's so little intelligent debate in our media these days - not that I'm saying there ever was, mind you.
